Albers Wreath (2025) is a uniform sculptural tensegrity wreath in the tradition of Kenneth Snelson. This seemingly impossible sculpture invites the viewer to take a longer look. To turn. To calm. To wonder. The sculptural elements are painted drumsticks that have circular movement, moving around and around. Cycles are fundamental patterns of Nature. Albers Wreath is a sculptural enso, representing the connectedness of all things, the cycles of life, and the void or emptiness. The coloration is inspired by Josef Albers’ painting, High Spring, part of his Homage to the Square series and can be viewed at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh.
